LAPIMA brings Brazilian tropical glamor to Parisian haute couture week

On the evening of Tuesday, July 2nd, amidst haute couture week, a group of designers, DJs, gallery owners and curators gathered at the sophisticated Rose’s Kitchen. Hidden in Paris, in one of the streets of the Marais, the venue hosted a dinner party for Lapima, a Brazilian eyewear brand that saw its frames become a hot topic on the city's most fashionable inner circles.

Gisela and Gustavo Assis, the couple behind the brand, welcomed a select list of guests to show the frames of refined and very peculiar aesthetics that are born inside their own studio in São Paulo, Brazil.

Aurelie Bidermann, Leslie Cohen-Amon, Cloclo Echavarria, Fernando Jorge, Yaz Bukey, Francesca Parisi and Gisela Niedzelski were among the guests along with Victoria Botana de Beauvau, the event producer who signed happenings for Maisons such as Dior and Hermés.

The happy gang tried the pieces while sipping ginger and champagne cocktails before sitting around a rectangular community table with tropical centerpieces signed by Marianne Guedin. There, amid laughter and conversation about art and design, they tasted Rose Chalalai Singh’s creations. The Thai chef, who turned a former sculpture studio into a private kitchen, is frequented by names like Haider Ackermann and Riccardo Tisci.

Pure and refined, tropical and moving, the setting was the perfect stage to experience LAPIMA design and its glasses intended to frame sui generis worldviews, just like the attending guests. A casual perfumed dinner, with Brazilian atmosphere and a Parisian touch. The evening was registered through the lens of the new talent Jacques Burga.
