Cris Barros

Barely six years in the market, Cris Barros has already become a reference for elegant women who want to dress in a distinguished, creative style. Its creations sport an apparent simplicity, but reveal a wealth of details and forms that are carefully built in moulage, special fabrics, and surprising finishings.
At the helm of the brand is São Paulo-born, 32-year-old designer Cris Barrros. Cris creates clothes that express her feelings and draws inspiration from experiences felt as she works on the collection. The designer also resorts to old memories and trips, people she met, and her passion for fashion and art, which she exercises being an avid reader and big movie fan.
"I work using my feelings, it's almost a natural process. Ideas emerge and I execute them. I love what I do and I believe this makes it all easier. I get excited by each and every step involved in developing a collection", says Cris, whose collections include several options which can be coordinated, encouraging women to compose customized, creative looks.
Cris Barros started in the fashion world as a successful model. After studying fashion and design at Anhembi Morumbi College, she worked as an intern at Cia Marítima. Later, she decided to pursue a master's degree at the prestigious Instituto Marangoni, in Milan. Based in Italy, Cris worked with French designer Stephan Janson, who was once Yves Saint Laurent's assistant and who also designed Dianne Von Funstenberg's collections. Back in Brazil, she joined the marketing departments of clothing manufacturer Zoomp and Internet portal IG, while still working on her own style of clothing. All this experience and a feeling that there was an opportunity in the market for her distinguished fashion, led the designer to establish her brand in 2002.
Today Cris Barros owns a store on Vittorio Fasano street and at Cidade Jardim Mall in São Paulo, it is present in the country's best multibrand stores, and has a special corner at Daslu.
